Scaffoling

Hey.

Hey.

Hello lovely people and welcome to this week’s newsletter. This week we: (1) hide the store behind scaffolding for 3 weeks 😐; (2) we give you the answer to the World’s hardest riddle; and (3) we share the latest in dating technology.

Welcome to the third week of August lovely people.

But, before all of that here is a fun fact:Ā did you know that in Switzerland it is illegal to own one guinea pig. Yep, that’s right. Anyone who wants to own a guinea pig in Switzerland has to have at least two guinea pigs. The reason – guinea pigs are social animals.

Scaffolding, Scaffolding, Scaffolding

Scaffoling
We’ve been scaffold-ed! Yep, there is no other way to put it. Our little Santa Monica store will be hidden behind an array of scaffolding for the next three weeks due to construction at our building 😐😐😐.

BUT, fear not. The Santa Monica store on Montana Ave will remain open as normal (1 pm to 10 pm) daily for take out and online orders. And also fear not you don’t actually have to walk under the scaffolding to get into the store – phew!

Dating App for Dog Lovers

Dogs. We all love them, but wouldn’t it be great if there was dating app that connected dog lovers. Yep, you read that right. Searching the internet we came across Dig – the dog person’s dating aim.

DigĀ aims to match you with someone who will love your pet as much as you do or better yet allow you to find someone you can get a dog with in the future. Best of all you and your dog both get a profile!
Awww, we thought this was a nice feel good story for the newsletter. If you go on to use the app, let us know.

Answer to the World’s Hardest Riddle

World's hardest riddle

“Under pressure. Pressure”

Did you answer “pressure”? Well, if you did then you are an actual genius because that was the answer to the world’s hardest riddle.

Forgot what the riddle was. Well, here is a reminder below.

I turn polar bears white

And I will make you cry.

I make guys have to pee

And girls comb their hair.

I make celebrities look stupid

And normal people look like celebrities.

I turn pancakes brown

And make your champagne bubble.

If you squeeze me, I’ll pop.

If you look at me, you’ll pop.

Can you answer this riddle?

Salted Caramel

August Flavor of the Month – Salted Caramel

August Flavor of the Month – Salted Caramel

Hello lovely people and welcome to August. The last month of Summer and one of our personal favorites. The beginning of a new month also marks the arrival of a new flavor for the month. This month sees the return for the second-time ever of Salted Caramel. Our take on, what has become a modern classic. Our Salted Caramel flavor is made from Coconut Cream, Sea Salt and Date. That’s it.

The dates is what gives this flavor that caramel flavor and then a hint of sea salt gives it that perfect “salted edge”. If you love salted caramel this is the perfect flavor for you.

Did you know…

Did you know that Salted Caramel was invested in 1977 by a French pastry chef Henri Le Roux in the form of salted butter caramel with crushed nuts using a Breton demi-sel butter. By the 2000 high end chefs started adding bits of salt to caramel and chocolate dishes. By 2008 the flavor had hit the mass market and the rest, as they say is history.

What makes our Salted Caramel Unique

“What makes our Salted Caramel Unique” we hear you say. Well, believe it or not it actually doesn’t contain any caramel.

‘Wait, what, no Caramel?”

Yep, that’s right. Our Salted Caramel contains no caramel. Sticking to our philosophy and ice cream mantra of “plant -based, vegan, using minimal ingredients and using only natural fruit sugars”, this flavor actually originated from our Salted Date Flavor. We found that turning down the saltiness, using coconut cream instead of coconut milk, and added more dates turned this flavor into the perfect Salted Caramel flavor.

Color, texture and flavor profileĀ

Color – Champagne gold in color

Texture – Thick and creamy

Flavor – Medium with a salty edge

Recommended Toppings – peanut butter, carob chips, chocolate chips

Recommended Parings – Salted Caramel + Chocolate

AvailabilityĀ

Salted Caramel will be available from our Santa Monica store for the month of August and online from Postmates, Grubhub, Doordash and Ubereats.

Big Big Love

August

Newsletter – Hello August!

This week at Frozen Fruit Co

01 August 2020

Hello lovely people.

This week at Frozen Fruit Co what does the first week of August, Salted Caramel and 15% off e-gift cards all have in common. Well, nothing much, aside from the fact that all are happening this week! Oh yeah! Welcome to August Lovely People.

But, before all of that here is a fun fact:Ā Bananas glow blue under black lights. To the everyday eye under normal conditions, ripe bananas appear yellow due to organic pigments called carotenoids. When bananas ripen, chlorophyll begins to break down. This pigment is the element that makes bananas glow, or ā€œfluoresce,ā€ under UV lights and appear blue. Don’t believe us try it 😐.

Hello August and Salted Caramel

Hello August. The eighth month of the year. Named after the founder and the first emperor of the Roman Empire, Augustus Caesar. Did you know that in the early Roman calendar August was actually the sixth month of the year and contained only 30 days, however this was changed so that it would match the number of days in July (which was named after Julius Caesar).

August is also the month we celebrate National Watermelon Day (Aug 3 – yay) and National Smile Week (Aug 5-11 – we will be smiling under our masks this year – we promise).

Aside from all of the above and being the last full month of Summer – August also marks the return of Salted Caramel. One of our most popular special monthly flavors ever made. Made from Coconut Cream, Date and a dash of Sea Salt (that’s it) – this flavor is our take on the modern classic of Salted Caramel.

Salted Caramel will be available in our Santa Monica Store from Saturday 1 August until the end of the month. Catch it while you can.

15% off e-gift cards are back!

To celebrate the arrival of August we decided to bring back 15% off e-Gift cards for the first week of August. Use the button to get one while you can. Hurry, though, the 15% off will only be available from 1 August to 7 August.

Wow, you read this far. You are amazing (unless you skipped to this bit – in which case you missed out on the fun fact of how Bananas glow under UV lights). As a reward here is your riddle. Can you solve it?

You enter a room that contains a match, a candle and a keroseneĀ lamp. What do you light first?

Answer to last week’s riddle: “First, think of the color of the clouds. Next, think of the color of snow. Now, think of the color of a bright full moon. Now answer quickly what do cows drink?”. Did you say “Milk”? The right answer is “Water”. Cows don’t drink milk.

Big Love, like lots of it.
